Air Quality Monitoring: Automatic Urban and Rural Network NI

Hourly air quality observation data from Northern Ireland's Automatic Urban and Rural Network (AURN) monitoring stations.

The AURN is the UK's largest automatic monitoring network. It includes automatic air quality monitoring stations measuring oxides of nitrogen (NOx), sulphur dioxide (SO2), ozone (O3) and particles (PM10 and PM2.5).

These monitoring sites provide high resolution hourly information which is communicated rapidly to the public, using a wide range of electronic, media and web platforms.

This dataset has been obtained from Defra's Air Information Resource. The data prior to 2016 has been ratified, but any less than 6 months old may still be subject to quality control process. Not all stations monitor the same information. The data has been downloaded through the open-source tools for analysing air pollution data. These tools are useful for performing further analysis and interrogation of AURN data.

Please note that there is no data for Derry Rosemount (DERR) site as it started functioning only in March 2016.
