Food Hygiene Ratings

Food Hygiene Ratings for Northern Ireland businesses from the Food Standards Agency (FSA)

Food Hygiene Rating System (FHRS) data provides the food hygiene rating or inspection result given to a business and reflect the standards of food hygiene found on the date of inspection or visit by the local authority. Businesses include restaurants, pubs, cafés, takeaways, hotels and other places consumers eat, as well as supermarkets and other food shops.

Food Hygiene Ratings range from a minimum of '0' ('Urgent Improvement Necessary') to a maximum of '5' ('Very Good'). The rating is based on the most recent inspection, the date of which is included. To find out more about the FHRS and the ratings, click here.

The food hygiene rating data is also available via an API. This is a free service and there is no need to register before using it. Click here to find out more.

Brand rating images must only be used in accordance with the FHRS/FHIS Brand Standard and the Terms and Conditions.

Food business operators and users of FHRS/FHIS images and data should be reminded that displaying an invalid rating or using this in any advertising or publicity material may constitute an offence under trading standards legislation.

The data are held on behalf of the councils participating in the Food Standards Agency's national Food Hygiene Rating System (FHRS). To find out ratings in your local area, visit the FSA Ratings website.
